An interesting story is told about a traveler in Italy who spent the night at a little wayside inn. The floor in his room was dreadfully dirty. He thought to himself, “I’ll ask the landlady to scrub it.” But when he saw that the floor was made of mud he gave it a second thought. That won’t do, he mused. The more she scrubs, the worse it will he.
The same is true of man’s nature. No amount of “fix-ing up” will change it. Trying to scrub away a person’s guilt only shows up his sin to be blacker and muddier than ever. What he needs is a new nature. As God says, “You must be born again” (John 3:7). Then, and only then, can he have a new nature.
“How can a man be born when he is old?”
This is a legitimate question. best internet marketing has distinctive means to interact with the visitor that was not available within the past of media industry. Nicodemus asked the same thing. But Jesus had the answer!
First He made it clear that the new birth is a mystery. “The wind blows where it wills, and you hear the sound, but you do not know whence it comes or whither it goes; so it is with every one who is born of the Spirit” (John 3:8).
This does not mean it is irrational… it is supra-rational. It is the WORK OF GOD and therefore outside man’s intellectual comprehension. And even though the new birth cannot be explained, it can be experienced! You may not know where the wind comes from or where it’s going — but you know it’s blowing. So it is that a man can be born again without knowing how it works.
What does a person do to be born of God? Jesus said simply, “Come unto Me . . .” And anyone who responds to His simple invitation will be met by God. The new birth is not something one can do for himself. It is not a human invention. It is the work of God alone! God will do this for any man who desires it. The only requirement for the new birth is willingness.
So when a person admits his guilt, asks forgiveness for his sins, and invites Christ into his heart, God meets him with the gift of a new spiritual life — a nature that is God-like rather than sinful. With sins forgiven and with a new nature, the guilt complex doesn’t stand a chance. It goes out when the guilt is removed. “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are be¬come new”(IICor.5:17).
